A Note from Bob and Deirdre
Happy New Year! We hope that 2004 is already off to a great start for you.
If you’re like us, you find that every January 1st brings with it the promise of new beginnings. Every year we make our resolutions and we commit ourselves to making our lives better and better. There is something about starting a brand new calendar year that inspires us and gives us a renewed sense of optimism.
So now that things have settled a bit after the holidays, we want to share a few thoughts that we hope you’ll find helpful and inspiring at this time of year:
- Make your resolutions
“Resolutions” is just another word for “goals.” And goals are extremely important to have any time of the year. So make your resolutions. Think about the things you want in your life and resolve to make them happen. If you haven’t made any resolutions yet, here’s one you can start with: “I resolve, by the end of the day today, to set 3 specific goals for myself that I will achieve this year.” Please read the article below on how to make your resolutions count. And if you need help with setting and achieving goals, here’s a tool that can help you.
- Any day can be New Year’s Day for you
When you think about it, January 1st is a pretty arbitrary date to decide that it’s the beginning of a new year. It could have easily been April 1st or July 18th for that matter. In fact, we all celebrate a new year each time our birthday rolls around. So the fact is, every day is the start of a new year. They say that “today is the first day of the rest of your life,” well it’s true. This is especially important to remember if you haven’t yet set your resolutions for this year or if you’ve already broken one of your resolutions. If that’s the case, remember that today is the start of a new year. So why not resolve to make today your new beginning!
- Succeeding in making life-changing resolutions is never easy
Any meaningful goal or resolution is never easy to accomplish. If it’s meaningful, it means making changes in your life, and that’s always hard to do. It requires overcoming old habits and old ways of thinking that have been established over many years. While it’s never easy to change our lives, it is by no means impossible. So don’t be deterred by the challenges you face or setbacks you may experience. Be persistent and don’t be afraid to ask for help. We have several outstanding programs that are designed to help you overcome past negative programming and succeed in reaching your goals. Take a look; we’re sure you’ll find one or two that are just right for you.

How to Make Your Resolutions Last the Whole Year
Do you make resolutions every year? Do you still remember what those resolutions are when the end of January rolls around? If you don’t, relax, you’re not alone. Everyone has trouble sticking with their resolutions. Here are a few hints to help you set your resolutions and set yourself up to achieve those resolutions.
- Program yourself for success
No matter what you resolve to do this year, the most important key to achieving your goals is making sure you are mentally prepared for success. Self-discipline, will power, commitment, and persistence are the terms we use, but they all mean the same thing: In order to achieve what you want in life, the key to success is in your mind.
Whether you want to lose weight, make more money, or improve your relationships, you need to first succeed in your mind. When you have already achieved your goals in your mind, it gives you the confidence you need to overcome any challenge or obstacle.
Your thoughts, both conscious and subconscious, are the difference between success and failure. However, changing the way you think is one of the hardest things to do. That’s what makes our audio programs so valuable. They are designed to help you change your thinking deep in your subconscious. They help you eliminate negative thoughts and replace them with positive, productive thoughts. With the help of our programs you can program your mind for success.
- Write down your goals
We have all heard this advice hundreds of times, yet still most of us do not do this. However, in several studies this simple act has been shown to have a significant effect on whether someone achieves their goals or not. So don’t wait another minute, write them down now!
- Put them where you can see them
Now that you’ve written down your goals, put them where you can see them. You need to remind yourself of your goals frequently to make sure you stay on track. When they say “don’t lose sight of your goals,” they mean it literally. So tape them to your bathroom mirror, post them on your bulletin board, stick them on the dashboard of your car, put them anywhere you will see them at least twice each day.
- Make a promise to someone you love
Unfortunately, most people find it much easier to break a promise to themselves than to someone they love. If this is true for you, then you should use this to your advantage. If you really want to achieve something, make a promise to the people you care most about: your spouse, your children, your parents. The more people you promise, the less likely you are to let yourself disappoint them. Try it and you’ll find that it will be a source of great strength at moments when you are tempted or faced with a difficult obstacle.
